Data Quality Dashboard

Article Summary

This dashboard provides a high-level summary and insights into the data health of your organization. For more information about configuring assets to work with data quality and understanding how data quality scores are calculated refer to Quality Overview.

To access this dashboard:

  1. Click Dashboards in the Home menu.

  2. Select DQ Overview from the Syniti Dashboard list box.

DQ Overview

This tab displays the following charts:

  • DQ Trend (This Week)—The trend in the overall data quality score for all assets tracked for the current week.

  • DQ Trend (This Month)—The trend in the overall data quality score for all assets tracked for the current month.

  • DQ Trend (This Year)—The trend in the overall data quality score for all assets tracked for the current year.

  • Overall Business Process DQ Score—The overall business process data quality score, with the three business processes with the lowest scores and the three business processes with the highest scores. Refer to Data Quality Score Calculations for Business Processes for more information.

  • Overall Business Concept DQ Score—The overall business concept data quality score, with the three business concepts with the lowest scores and the three business concepts with the highest scores. Refer to Data Quality Score Calculations for Business Concepts for more information.

  • Business Process Data Quality Scores—A table with every business process used in the business process data quality score calculation.

    It includes the following details:

Click a business process to open the Rules by Business Process tab, which displays the rules, enforcements and implementations associated with the business process and is used in this selected business process’s data quality score calculations.

  • Business Concept (Term) Data Quality Scores—A table with every business concept used in the business concept data quality score calculation.

    It includes the following details:

Click a business concept to open the Rules by Business Concept (Term) tab, which displays the rules, enforcements and implementations associated with the business concept and is used in this selected business concept’s data quality score calculations.

Rules by Business Process

This tab displays details about the rules, enforcements and implementations associated with the selected business process. Either all business processes can be selected or one business process can be selected at a time.

To access this tab filtered on all rules assigned to all business processes:

  1. Click the Rules by Business Process tab.

  2. Click the Reset to original dashboard icon in the page toolbar.

To access this tab filtered by a business process:

  1. Click the DQ Overview tab.

  2. Scroll down to the Business Process Data Quality Scores chart.

  3. Click the business process.

Rules associated with Business Process

This chart contains the following details about the rules associated with the selected business process, used in the data quality score calculations:

  • DQ Score—The rule’s data quality score. Refer to Data Quality Score Calculations for Rules for more information.

  • Asset IDs

  • Rule Statement—Defines in business terms what must happen for the rule to be achieved using true/false analysis.

  • Implication—The effect a policy or action has on the operations or financial well-being of a company. If the rule is not followed, what consequences will the company suffer as a result?

  • Business Process DQ Threshold—The Critical and Warning levels related to the data quality scores for this business process. Thresholds are set in Admin and determine the color on charts and visuals on Data Quality pages. Refer to Data Quality Score Thresholds for more information.

When you click a rule, that rule’s associated enforcements and implementations display in the other charts on this page.

Enforcements

This chart contains the following details about the enforcements associated with the rule selected in the Rules associated with Business Process chart on this page:

  • DQ Score—The enforcement’s data quality score. Refer to Data Quality Score Calculations for Enforcements for more information.

  • Asset ID

  • Enforcement Name

  • Requester—The name of the Syniti Knowledge Platform user who is the contact for the enforcement.

  • Implementer—The name of the Syniti Knowledge Platform user or team lead responsible for the enforcement’s implementation.

  • System of Enforcement—The system where the rule is enforced in the organization’s landscape, whether cloud or on premise, running on physical or virtual architecture.

  • Business Process DQ Threshold—The Critical and Warning levels related to the data quality scores for this business process. Thresholds are set in Admin and determine the color on charts and visuals on Data Quality pages. Refer to Data Quality Score Thresholds for more information.

Implementations

This chart contains the following details about the implementations associated with the rule selected in the Rules associated with Business Process chart on this page:

  • DQ Score—The implementation’s data quality score. Refer to Data Quality Score Calculations for Implementations for more information.

  • Asset ID

  • Implementation Name

  • Implementer—The name of the Syniti Knowledge Platform user or team lead responsible for the implementation.

  • System of Implementation—System of implementation’s data staging area, where data from this system has been extracted and moved for reporting purposes, whether a physical system in an organization’s landscape, cloud or on premise, running on physical or virtual architecture.

  • Business Process DQ Threshold—The Critical and Warning levels related to the data quality scores for this business process. Thresholds are set in Admin and determine the color or charts and visuals on Data Quality pages. Refer to Data Quality Score Thresholds for more information.

  • Execution Status—The status of the latest execution of the implementation.

  • Opportunity Count—The number of opportunities (records against which the rule was applied) associated with the latest execution of the implementation.

  • Error Count—The number of records that failed the data quality rule during the latest execution of the implementation.

  • Execution Date—The date and time of the latest execution of the implementation.

Rules by Business Concept (Term)

This tab displays details about the rules, enforcements and implementations associated with the selected business concept. Either all business concepts can be selected or one business concept can be selected at a time.

Execution History

This tab contains two charts:

  • Execution History (Data Descending) for Implementation

  • Execution History (Data Ascending)

Execution History (Data Descending) for Implementation

This chart displays the following details about all implementations in the Syniti Knowledge Platform:

  • Executed On—The date the implementation ran.

  • Error #—The number of error records returned.

  • Opportunity #—The number of opportunity records returned.

  • DQ Score—The data quality score that is the result of this implementation. Refer to Data Quality Score Calculations for Implementations for more information.

Execution History (Data Ascending)

The line graph shows data points for daily data quality scores. Hover over the data point for additional information, including the average data quality score for that day.

Download by Business Process

Use this tab to view and download data quality details broken out by business process. It can be exported to an Excel or CSV file by clicking the Menu options menu, which displays in the upper right of the chart when you hover your cursor over it.

It lists the following details:

  • Business Process ID

  • Business Process Name

  • Business Process DQ Score—The data quality score that is the result of this business process. Refer to Data Quality Score Calculations for Business Processes for more information.

  • Business Process DQ Threshold—The Critical and Warning levels related to the data quality scores for this business process. Thresholds are set in Admin and determine the color on charts and visuals on Data Quality pages. Refer to Data Quality Score Thresholds for more information.

  • Rule ID
