Use Filters In Migrate

Article Summary

Pages in Migrate have a robust filter capability, ranging from a simple filtered search to complex, custom filters using AND and OR statements. You can even filter on the data in any field using a Not Contains condition, allowing you to perform negative searches.

When you have a filter on more than one column, those filters use AND (instead of OR). The filters you add are not case sensitive.

To filter data on a page in Migrate:

  1. Click the Search icon.

    Note

Each column header on the page displays a field beneath it with a filter icon to the right.

  2. You can add the filter in multiple ways:

Enter the string to use as a filter in this empty field.

    Or

Click the filter icon and check each value’s check box to display that value in the filter.

    Or

Click the filter icon and click the right-pointing arrow next to Text Filter to create more complicated filters.

  3. Click the down-pointing arrow next to Contains and select a condition for the filter. Values are:

    • Contains-The filtered rows contain the string entered in the Filter field in this column.

    • Not Contains-The filtered rows do not contain the string entered in the Filter field in this column.

    • Equal-The filtered rows equal the string entered in the Filter field in this column.

    • Not Equal-The filtered rows do not equal the string entered in the Filter field in this column.

    • Starts With-The filtered rows start with the data entered in the Filter field in this column.

    • Ends With-The filtered rows end with the data entered in the Filter field in this column.

    • Blank-The filtered rows have no data in this column.

    • Not Blank-The filtered rows have data in this column.

  4. Enter the filter value to use with the condition in the Filter text box.

  5. Continue to build the filter using an AND or OR, as needed.

Reset a Filter

If text displays in the filter field below the column header, a filter has been applied to that column. The method for resetting a filter depends on how the filter was applied.

  • To clear a filter that was added to the text field beneath the column header, clear the text so that the field is empty.

  • To clear a filter that is set based on check box selections, click the filter icon and click the (Select All) option.

  • To clear a complex filter, click the filter icon, and click the right-pointing arrow next to Text Filter. Clear the filter value text box for all filters.
