Add a Scan Filter

Metadata scanners scan all available metadata in the target systems. In some cases, the amount of metadata ingested into the Catalog is overwhelming and the total scan and ingestion time is too long. Add a scan filter to limit the metadata being scanned to a specific database or schema, set of databases or set of schemas (dependent on database type).

To add a scan filter:

1. Verify you’re in the Catalog module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.
   Or
   Select Catalog from the Home menu to navigate to the Catalog module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.

2. Search for the system.

3. Click the Scans tab.

4. Expand the Filter Conditions heading.

5. Enter a filter Name.

6. Enter a filter Value.

7. Click Add filter.
