About Executing Metric Calculations

This section defines the steps for execution of the metric calculations for PMO Dashboard within Migrate > Mappings.

Milestone Metrics, as part of the PMO Dashboard, accumulates the metric calculations for many stages of the migration process.  Milestone Metrics are configured within section Administer > Advanced > Metrics Configuration for the project site.  The Syniti Migrate application starts with a basic set of metric settings.

Prerequisites to Running the Metrics Calculation Job

  • The Metrics Configuration should be reviewed for process specifics.  Refer to section Administer > Advanced > Metrics Configuration for more details of these settings.

  • The Project, Release, and Datasets must be created and setup within Mappings page.

  • The metric flags and fields must be updated throughout the project to show the progression of each object.

Execute metrics

From the multi-panel Mappings page, the user may click on the Execute metrics  icon to open the details window.

The Execute Metrics window displays two tabs of data.  The first tab provides the Executable list of active Metrics.  The second tab provides a list of any manually added metric values.  Upon opening the window the first time, Milestone field defaults a Milestone in the current date range as shown below.  The user must click on the drop down list for the field Milestone and select a different Milestone if a future or past milestone is processed.

These are the same Milestones that are assigned to the Release for this object within Project Setup.

Note

Should the project not have Milestones assigned when this page in opened, an Error message displays to state that there are no milestones for this Release.  Create Milestone values with valid start and end dates and then this process works as expected.

Note

Once the Metrics are initiated for a Release and Milestone, that Milestone may no longer be deleted as there are MilestoneObjectMetrics referencing this Milestone.  The user must mark as Inactive, but can no longer delete.
