Current Release

January 7, 2025

Syniti is excited to announce another release. Administrators can now self-serve their organization’s single sign-on configuration, improving authentication consistency across all platform modules. The Construct module now offers new light image colors, providing better visual indicators for different statuses.

In the Migrate module, the Export Dataset functionality has been deprecated and replaced with export views in System Reports and MIG_ views from Snapshot Management. You can now run configured ETL tasks as part of an Orchestrate workflow, broadening data migration and governance capabilities. This release also includes crucial bug fixes to improve user experience and system performance, along with four new migration history views for Data Quality Reporting. Additionally, a new desktop version of Syniti Replicate is now available.

Enhancements

Syniti Knowledge Platform

Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration can now be self-served within the Syniti Knowledge Platform, allowing Administrators to configure and manage authentication settings with your organization’s Identity Provider independently.

Administrators can choose between Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 or OpenID Connect SSO protocols based on their organization’s security policy. This enhancement simplifies the process of configuring SSO, reducing the assistance required from Syniti Support.

Refer to Single Sign-On for more information.

Construct

  • The Construct module now supports seamless integration with the Syniti Knowledge Platform's centralized self-serve Single Sign-On process. This update enhances the authentication experience, providing improved consistency and strengthened security across all platform modules.

  • We have enhanced Construct to include the option for additional colors of light images, such as purple, amber, grey, and varying shades of blue and green. These color additions enhance the visual indicators for various statuses. To see these newly available images, access Admin > Configuration > Styles > Images and set the filter to Light.

Migrate

  • The Export Dataset functionality on the Dataset Details page (accessed via Catalog > Dataset Design > Dataset Edit) has been deprecated. As a replacement, you can use the delivered export views in System Reports or MIG_ views related to datasets from the snapshot tables in the SRCCONSTRUCT datasource.

  • You can now run configured ETL Tasks as part of an Orchestrate Workflow from the Orchestrate module. This enhancement creates a wide range of possibilities in data migration, quality, and governance use cases. Refer to the Execute ETL Task Type section for more information.

  • The following migration history views that supports Data Quality Reports are now available in the SRCCONSTRUCT datasource in Snapshot Management:

    • MIG_REPORT_DEPLOYMENT_HISTORY: Provides historical changes to all active reports based on deployments.

    • MIG_REPORT_DEPLOYMENT_SEGMENT_HISTORY: Provides historical changes to all active reports based on deployments and grouped by a segmented field.

    • MIG_REPORT_HISTORY: Provides historical changes to active reports.

    • MIG_REPORT_SEGMENT_HISTORY: Provides historical changes to active reports grouped by a segmented field.

Replicate

A new desktop version of Syniti Replicate has been released. Refer to What’s New in Syniti Replicate v11.0.0.1 for more information.

Bug Fixes

Migrate

  • We fixed an issue where leading blanks in cell values within tables were being trimmed when the report was downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet.

  • We fixed an issue where reports were being run based on the Report Type instead of the Report Group field.

  • We fixed an issue in the Postload Report Stored Procedure where the ZCOMPARE_ALL field was being dropped in some reports.

  • We fixed the Request Timeout issue encountered when executing Target Exports through ETL tasks that invoked the Replications Schedule API to enable a replication's schedule.

  • We fixed an issue where importing a dataset was unsuccessful when a release was configured with a Security Profile.

  • We fixed an issue where users were unable to set Row groups for a report when a Column sort was applied.

  • In Snapshot Management, we fixed the following issues:

    • Clicking the Column filter in any Status column did not function as intended and resulted in an error message.

    • The replications populated in the Specific SDR Replication list for a given snapshot table did not respect the Replication Hub associated with the selected Datasource.

  • We fixed an issue where selecting the None option from the Text Qualifier list did not function as intended, resulting in the data from an export task being wrapped in double quotes.

  • We fixed an issue where columns in grids would automatically resize and fail to remember their last state.

  • We fixed an issue where the Migrate Mapper role was able to VIEW, EDIT, RUN, and BUILD ETL processes, including improperly being allowed to BUILD Targets, Working Tables, or Target Reports. Migrate Mappers now have the correct permissions and are restricted from building these components as intended.

  • We fixed an issue where the delivered function SYN_SAP_DATE was returning a static value.

  • We fixed an issue where running ETL jobs could result in Out of Memory exceptions. This fix ensures better memory management during ETL execution, improving ETL job stability and performance.

  • We fixed an issue where importing a Mapping Spreadsheet would throw a blank exception message. This fix ensures that error messages during import are properly displayed with clear and descriptive messages to remedy the error.

  • We fixed an issue where adding an Execute Replication task as part of an ETL job incorrectly updated the description to Export. This task now correctly displays Refresh in its description.
