Create a Term

To create a term:

  1. Verify you’re in the Catalog module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.

    Or

    Select Catalog from the Home menu to navigate to the Catalog module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.

  2. Click the Create asset icon on the Site menu.

  3. Select Term.

For details about a specific field, hover over the Help icon.

For more information about terms, click the Page help icon on the Site menu.

Relate System Objects to a Term

When system objects are related to terms, you’re able to

  • Create a comprehensive view of how data-related assets drive business goals

  • Deepen the connection between business concepts and the technical resources that support them

  • Offer a holistic conceptual model that different users can explore to understand how their work directly impacts their organization’s success

To relate system objects to a term:

  1. Ensure the system has been scanned into the Syniti Knowledge Platform. Refer to Scan a System for more information.

  2. Search for the term.

  3. Click the System Objects tab.

  4. Filter your results by the system in the Syniti Knowledge Platform to which you’ve scanned system metadata.

    Or

    Search by object Name or Description.

  5. Select the system objects to relate to the term.

  6. Click the Relate system objects button.

Edit a Term

To edit a term:

  1. Search for the term.

  2. Click the More actions icon in the upper right.

  3. Select Edit.

For details about a specific field, hover over the Help icon.

For more information about terms, click the Page help icon on the Site menu.

Delete a Term

To delete a term:

  1. Search for the term.

  2. Click the More actions icon in the upper right.

  3. Select Delete.
