Syniti recommends creating a Syniti Replicate Metadata in Microsoft SQL Server. This article describes high-level steps to create a Metadata from scratch.
Complete the following steps when you run a clean installation or upgrade Replicate from a previous version of DBMoto or Syniti Data Replication using the standard installation:
In your local Syniti Server, install SQL Server of any edition such as Express, Standard, or Enterprise.
Create a database in SQL Server. For example, Metadata.

Create a user in this database (for example, Metadata) and ensure that you grant full permissions to this database.

In Syniti Replicate, after completing your installation or upgrade, a new server local appears in the Metadata Explorer. Right click Local and select Add New Metadata.

Complete the steps in the Metadata Connection wizard to create a metadata. In this case, create a metadata named Metadata.
Enter the credential created in SQL Server to connect with the database, test the database connection, and click Next.

Select the newly created database.

You can create a new Metadata if this is a clean installation or restore a previous Metadata from a backup.

If your metadata is already stored in a SQL Server database, select Open existing Metadata Database to recover your metadata from this location.
Once you complete the wizard, the new metadata appears in the Metadata Explorer.
