Step-by-Step Upgrade Process
Step 1: Register Your New Standard SKP Connector
1. Access the Admin Module
Log in to the Syniti Knowledge Platform
Select Admin from the Profile menu (if not already in Admin module)
2. Register Your Connector
Navigate to Connectivity → SKP Connectors
Click the Standard tab
Click Register SKP connector
Enter a Name (and optional Description)
Click Save
3. Save Your Secret Key
In the confirmation dialog, click Copy secret key
Store this key securely – it cannot be regenerated. You'll need it during installation.
Click X to close and complete registration
4. Download & Install the latest SKP connector version. Refer to the Knowledge Platform Connector: Security, Installation, Requirements & Troubleshooting article for detailed installation guidance.
Step 2: Update Connections to the New Connector
1. Identify Connections to Update
Go to Connectivity → Connections in the SKP
Check the SKP Connectors column to identify legacy connections
2. Update Each Connection
Click the Edit icon on the connection
Select your new standard connector from the SKP Connectors field
Update connection credentials:
Hostname - Server hosting the database
Username - User ID for database access
Password - Associated password
Click Save
