Handling Primary Keys for DDS Tables in IBM Db2 for i

Prev Next

Issue

In Syniti Replicate Management Center, when you click on Db2 target tables in the target node, you should see the primary key defined in each table. However, when the table is defined as a Data Description Specifications (DDS) table, Syniti Replicate is unable to identify/retrieve the primary key fields using standard catalog queries.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. In the Metadata Explorer, right-click the connection and select Connection Properties.

  2. In the Management Center Connection Properties dialog, set Use Primary Keys Extended to True.

  3. Reload the table settings by right-clicking the table, library, or connection node in the Metadata Explorer and selecting Refresh.

Refreshing forces Syniti Replicate to reload the primary key information using the extended detection method.
