Creating and Deleting Text Log Files

Prev Next

When saving the log to a text file, Syniti Replicateuses the file DBMoto.log in the Log folder to store information about each replication session. This file is created and maintained automatically, however, you can specify how often you want to create a new file and how large each log file should be in the Replication Agent Options dialog in the Management Center.

  1. In the Metadata Explorer, select the server for which you want to set log options.

  2. From the right mouse button menu, choose Replication Agent Options, to open the Replication Agent Options dialog.

  3. In the Replication Agent Options dialog, go to the Log tab.

To delete a log file, you must first stop and exit the Replication Agent so that the log file is no longer used. When you delete the log file, a new file is created next time you run a replication.

Note that, in the Replication Agent Options dialog,  you can also choose to save the log to a database or to the Windows Event Viewer.
