The connection Usage defines how the connection is used for this system datastore. A connection may have multiple Usages.
A system datastore can only have 1 connection with a Usage of Metadata Scanning. Refer to page-level help for a description of each Usage.
To set the Usage of a connection:
Navigate to the system.
Click on the datastore name to open the datastore Details page.
Click the Connections tab to create a new connection or edit an existing connection.
Select a connection usage from the Usage list box.
Click Save.
