Set the Usage of a Connection

The connection Usage defines how the connection is used for this system. A connection may have multiple Usages; however, if using a connection string instead of the connection form, only select one Usage.

A system can only have 1 connection with a Usage of Metadata Scanning. Refer to page-level help for a description of each Usage.

To set the Usage of a connection:

1. Navigate to the system.

2. Click the Connections tab to create a new connection or edit an existing connection.

3. Select a connection usage from the Usage list box.

4. Click Save.
