About Stakeholders

Stakeholders are assigned to various object types as responsible persons to the decisions made for that object type. Syniti Migrate defaults a list of Stakeholder relevant object types. These object types include Application, Data Elements, Datasets, Datasource, Instance and Subject Area as example. The Stakeholders are provided within the details of the Object Types. As example, a Dataset looks similar to this image:

Stakeholder Configuration

View the Stakeholders page by navigating to Administer > Advanced > Stakeholders from the Syniti Migrate Homepage. The Object Types for Stakeholders include: Application, Dataset, Datasource, Data Element, Instance, Subject Area, and Table.

Stakeholders

Stakeholders are the people involved with project effort who may not necessarily be a user. Usually, an employee from the employee table but can be a title or a role like a Manager, VP of Marketing, Division, etc.

The Stakeholder Types grid displays the following column headers:

Heading

Description

Object Type

These are the fixed list of sections within the system that stores attributes. Ex: Datasources, Data Elements, or Interfaces. This field is display only.

Each object type displays a count of associated attributes in parenthesis.

Edit

Edit icon is active for manually created Attributes. Otherwise, it displays as not active.

Delete

Delete icon is active for any manually created Attributes. Otherwise, it displays as not active. It deletes the current Attribute from the Object Type.

Index

Sequence of the Attributes. Value increasse by factor of 10 for each new entry.

Stakeholder Type

Name of the Stakeholder.

Description

A detailed description of the Stakeholder Type.

Active

Toggle to mark the stakeholder as active.

Show on Grid

Toggle to mark the stakeholder a relevant to show on the list datagrid for this object type.

Add a Stakeholder

To add new stakeholders to the project, click Add  icon. Enter the field values for the required fields in order to save.

Description

Index*

Sequence in the list of records. Value increases by factor of 10 for each new entry. (Required)

Name*

Stakeholder name. (Required)

Object Type*

The object to which this Stakeholder is assigned. (Required)

Field Status*

Provides the Stakeholder's value. (Optional, Required, Hidden, Required for Complete) (Required)

Attribute Type*

This field defaults with value of Stakeholder. (Required)

Active

Toggle to make the record Active/Inactive.

Defaults as Active.

Show on Datagrid

Toggle to set the Stakeholder to show on a grid that lists this object type.

Note

Defaults as Inactive and the value is contingent upon Unique toggle being set to Inactive.

Unique

Toggle to set the Stakeholder as a unique value.

Defaults as Active.

Note

If the Unique toggle is set as Inactive, this attribute may have multiple entries in the field value. This would be difficult to view in a datagrid, and so if the Unique toggle is set to Inactive, the toggle for Show on Datagrid is set to display (Not Active for use).

When finished with edits, click the Save  icon to complete.

Edit a Stakeholder

The stakeholder may be changed by highlighting the row, and then modifying the fields that display within the right side panel for that selected stakeholder.

When finished with edits, click the Save  icon to complete.

Delete a Stakeholder

Only user entered stakeholders may be deleted from the system. The defaulted stakeholders display with the Delete icon not active. To delete a stakeholder that was added, click the Delete icon for that row of data. If the stakeholder has not been assigned values within the system, it will delete without issues. However, if assigned stakeholder values, it will not delete.
