Using Unified Add/Edit All Mode

Prev Next

Unified Add/Edit All mode is designed to reduce click fatigue and streamline your data entry process. Instead of creating or editing a record and then separately opening and saving each related container, you can now enter all data in a single, unified flow.

  • Add All lets you create a new record where the parent grid row and all related containers, including tabs, automatically open in edit mode together.

  • Edit All does the same for existing records, opening the parent grid and its related detail containers for simultaneous editing. Once in unified edit mode, you can enter your data across all containers and save everything with a single click.

To enter unified Add/Edit All mode, click Add All or Edit All at the top of the parent grid container.

Important Notes

  • Save Process: Cloud Construct saves the parent grid (parent record) first, then the related form containers (child records). If a field appears on both the grid and a form and you've edited it in both places, the form value wins, it overwrites whatever was entered in the grid for that shared field.

  • Required Fields: When a parent and child share the same dataset, non-nullable/required fields must exist on both the parent and child containers. Without these fields on both sides, the save operation may fail.

  • Cancel Behavior: If you click Cancel or exit edit mode without saving, all changes made across the grid and tab containers are discarded together, and the UI returns to view-only mode.
