About Creating and Maintaining Milestones
Milestones are generally scheduled test cycles to validate the ETL process and migration data. Milestones capture the trial or "mock" load dates for conversion of data. These milestones are used to test the load of legacy data, and often provides the data used for formal testing of the system by the Testing teams. The final milestone before go-live is commonly referred to as the "dress rehearsal".
Prerequisities for Creating Milestones
The prerequisite to this process is building the Release within Project Setup.
The subsequent step of this process is to build the Deployments within Project Setup.
Note
A Milestone could be used for conversion of data and validation, or it could be used for a cleansing effort. For that reason, the Environment may be assigned at the Milestone level.
View the following page by navigating to Migrate > Project Setup on the Syniti Migrate Homepage to launch the Project Setup multi-panel page. On the Project Setup multi-panel page, the Milestones panel is in the lower left of the Project Setup page.
The list of active Milestones that have been added are on the Milestones panel. The panel displays the following:
Heading | Description |
---|---|
Name | Name of the Milestone. Ex: Mock 1, ITC 2 or Cutover |
Start | Milestone start date. (Start Date of the Release defaults) |
End | Milestone end date. (Start Date of the Release + 7 Days defaults) |
Environment | Environment selected for this Milestone. |
Add a New Milestone
On the Milestone panel, click the Add icon to create a new Milestone and launch the Add Milestone window. From this window, fields values can be entered as shown below.
See below for field definitions for adding a Milestone:
Field | Description |

Start Date | Enter the first day of this Milestone. |
End Date | Enter the last day of this Milestone. |
Environment* | Select from the list the environment for this Milestone. (Required) |
Note
At this point the date range for Start and End Dates should be set for the Release, these Milestone dates reflect the Start of the Release. The Start and End Dates must fall within the range of the Release.

Edit a Milestone
On the Releases panel, click the Edit icon on the selected Release record to Edit the Release and launch the Edit Release window.
From this window, fields values can be entered as shown below.
When finished with edits, click the Save icon to complete.
Subsequent Steps
The subsequent step of this process is to build the Development Areas.
