About Guided Setup
The Guided Setup page provides a wizard for initial setup for a project in the logical order of steps. Each of the tabs of this page are also provided with the same pathway for direct access, but within this page the Project may be properly and logically prepared for use. Section Initial Setup-First Week provides details for this setup and will help to prepare the user for the sequenced steps. This Guided Setup page will assist the user in setting the Parameters; building the servers for Migrate and Construct access; creating the Environments for ETL processing, Reporting, and Project Setup; creating the Subject Areas that group together like processes; and creating the Development Areas that will store the tables, views, and rules used for the datasets.
Prerequisites
As defined within section Initial Setup of Supporting Database and Systems for a Working Migrate System, the databases, servers, tenants, and connections must all be setup prior to setup of this Syniti Migrate system.
Users & Roles for Guided Setup
The IT Lead or Admin is responsible for initial setup of the Syniti Migrate system. This section is stored within Administer and only users granted Admin access maintains the setting up of this process.
Using the Guided Setup Wizard

Refer to section Admin > Setup > Parameters for field descriptions and use on this tab of the Guided Setup page.
Servers Tab
The second tab of the Guided Setup page will provide access for building the Servers within Syniti Migrate that are required to communicate with the Syniti Construct system and the client's database system. Refer to section Administer > Setup > Servers for field descriptions and use on this tab of the Guided Setup page
Environments Tab
The third tab of the Guided Setup page provides access for building Environments within Syniti Migrate that are used to provide for multiple working environments to build out the tables, views, rules, and reporting. Refer to section Administer > Setup > Environments for field descriptions and use on this tab of the Guided Setup page
Subject Areas Tab
The fourth tab of the Guided Setup page provides access for building Subject Areas within Syniti Migrate that are used to group together multiple datasets and processes. Examples of these are OrderToCash, Finance, or Material Master. The team will determine the appropriate split of the list of objects into subject areas to provide multiple working areas for development. Refer to section Administer > Setup > Subject Areas for field descriptions and use on this tab of the Guided Setup page.

Development Areas Tab
The fifth tab of the Guided Setup page provides access for building Development Areas within Syniti Migrate that are used to group together the Environments and Working Datasources (databases) into a Development Area. Refer to section Administer > Setup > Development Areas for field descriptions and use on this tab of the Guided Setup page.
Note
When the Subject Area is created through this wizard, the system automatically creates a development area of the same name within the Development Areas tab. Each Subject Area requires at least one Development Area in the system.
Import Databases Tab
The sixth tab of the Guided Setup page provides access for linking the Working Databases created within Syniti Knowledge Platformas connections to the within Syniti Migrate to the Development Area and Environment. Refer to section Administer > Setup > Import Databases for field descriptions and use on this tab of the Guided Setup page.
