Note
Syniti is actively transforming the Replicate module into a cloud-native solution within the Syniti Knowledge Platform (SKP). The source and target datastore connections and the Snapshot (Refresh) replications are now managed in Replicate Preview, while the Change Data Capture capability still relies on the Syniti Replicate desktop version. Syniti remains committed to further enhancing cloud capabilities for a seamless user experience.
Overview
Replicate Preview, Syniti’s next-generation data replication solution, enables you to capture point-in-time data snapshots (copies of your data) and transfer data across various relational and non-relational databases, while maintaining data integrity and consistency throughout the process. Replicate Preview allows you to meet enterprise-wide business requirements, such as:
Data Migration: Data replication from source systems into staging or working databases and from staging or working databases to target systems.
Data Quality: Data replication from source systems into centralized or working databases to create a snapshot or working copy of the relevant tables with data from a specific date and time for complex Data Quality rules execution and audit purposes.
Data Replication (stand-alone): Replicate data from sources to targets for analytics, AI, and other data replication use cases.
Currently, when working with data in a migration, quality, or replication project, Replicate Preview replicates (snapshot replication) data from source datastores (where the data originates) to the associated target datastore (where the copied data need to be moved or stored).
Note
Mirroring replication mode is available in the Syniti Replicate desktop version and will be supported in future releases of the cloud version.
About this Guide
This guide contains the following types of information:
An overview that helps you understand Replicate Preview and how it works.
Step-by-step information that explains the process and how to accomplish tasks within each page of this module.
Release Notes for Replicate Preview and other modules are available in the What's New category that lists new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for each module.
Roles and Permissions
The following table outlines predefined user roles and their associated permissions, which can be used to assign appropriate access levels and prevent unauthorized access:
Role | Permission |
|---|---|
Replicate Viewer | Read-only access. Can view details of all configured workspaces, datastores, groups, and replications, including field mappings, partitions, dependencies, and logs. |
Replicate Operator | Includes all Viewer permissions, and the ability to manually execute and stop replications, schedule replications, and enable/disable replications at replication and datastore levels. |
Replicate Developer | Includes all Operator permissions, and the ability to configure and manage replication definitions using create, edit, and delete operations. |
Replicate Administrator | Includes all Developer permissions, and platform-level administration including global datatype rule translations (field mappings), the ability to drop target tables, and export replication details. |
Note
When working with File Replications, Replicate Preview roles are dependent on Syniti Drive permissions, such as viewing the list of drives and drive contents, reading and writing drives, and managing drives.
