Working with Drives

Overview

This article provides comprehensive instructions for managing folders and files within a drive, enabling users to efficiently organize their content.

Refer to Syniti Drive for more information on Syniti Drive’s capabilities, personal drives, and shared drives.

Create a Folder

  1. After accessing a drive, click Create Folder in the upper-right corner.

    Or

    Click More Options (…) > New Folder next to your drive’s name in the navigation panel.
    The Create New Folder dialog box is displayed.

  2. Enter a unique folder name and click Create.

A new folder is created successfully.

Upload a File

  1. After accessing the required drive or folder, click Upload File in the upper-right corner. The Upload Files dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select one or more files and click Open. The selected files are uploaded successfully.

  3. Click Close.

Alternatively, you can select and drop files directly into a drive or folder to upload them quickly.

Note

If you select multiple files, the supported files are uploaded. Any unsupported files fail with an error.

Manage Files and Folders

Note

Currently, you cannot copy or move files and folders to a different drive.

You can perform the following actions to files and folders (or subfolders) within a drive:

Create a Subfolder

  1. In the navigation panel, select the required folder within a drive.

  2. Click More Options (…) > New Folder. The Create New Folder dialog box is displayed.

  3. Enter a unique folder name and click Create.

    Or
    Alternatively, you can select the folder and click Create Folder in the upper-right corner.

Rename a Folder

  1. In the navigation panel, select the required folder within a drive.

  2. Click More Options (…) > Rename. The Rename Folder dialog box is displayed.

  3. Enter a new name and click Rename.

Duplicate a File or Folder

  1. Access a drive and select the required file or folder.

  2. In the Actions column, click More Options > Duplicate.

The duplicated file or folder is created with the following naming format: ***(Copy).

Copy a File or Folder

  1. In the navigation panel, select the required folder within a drive and click More Options (…) > Copy to. The Copy Folder To dialog box is displayed.

    Or

    Alternatively, access a drive and select the required file or folder.

    • In the Actions column, click More Options > Copy to. The Copy Items To dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select the required drive and folder and click Copy Here.

Move a File or Folder

  1. In the navigation panel, select the required folder within a drive and click More Options (…) > Move to. The Move Folder To dialog box is displayed.

    Or

    Alternatively, access a drive and select the required file or folder.

    • In the Actions column, click More Options > Move to. The Move Items To dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select the required drive and folder.

  3. Click Move Here.

Download a File

  1. Access a drive and select the required file.

  2. In the Actions column, click Download .

Note

When multiple files or folders are selected, they can be downloaded together as a single compressed .zip file.

Download a Folder as ZIP

  1. In the navigation panel, select the required folder within a drive.

  2. Click More options ( … ) > Download as ZIP.

The folder, including its subfolder (if available), are downloaded as a single .zip file.

Delete a File or Folder

  1. In the navigation panel, select the required folder within a drive and click More Options (…) > Delete. The Delete Folder dialog box is displayed

    Or

    Alternatively, access a drive and select the required file or folder.

    • In the Actions column, click Delete . The Delete File dialog box is displayed.

  2. Click Delete to confirm.
