About Construct Page Deployment Security
Construct Page Security is defined within Syniti Migrate for each user based upon the Deployments assigned. Each user must be assigned to at least one deployment within Construct Page in order to have access to view the template through Microsoft Excel.
Each Construct Page requires assigning deployments originated from the Project Setup section for a Project / Release. The Deployment icon is provided for each Construct Page.
Prerequisites
Prior to adding deployments and security to the Construct Page, the page must be created within Syniti Construct as a WebApp Page.
The same WebApp Page must then be set up within Syniti Migrate Construct Pages and must be active. Refer to section Migrate > Construct Pages for details.
The users assigned to the WebApp Pages in Syniti Construct should have already been added as users to Syniti Migrate for use in this set up of Deployment assignment for Page and user. Refer to Administer > Security > User Management for details.
Deployments for a Project and Release are maintained within Project Setup.
Add a Deployment to the Construct Page
Each Dataset can have one or many deployments that filters records by criteria for use in reporting, security validation and data construction. Adding deployments to a Construct Page allows access for the users assigned to the deployments to maintain the data for that deployment within Construct Pages. To view and add deployments to a Template click Deployments icon for that Construct page.
In order to assign a deployment to the Construct page these two requirements must be met:
The Template Dataset must be assigned to a Release.
Deployments must be added to the Release.
Click Add icon to open the dialog box for adding a deployment.
Construct Pages: Deployments Add
Field | Description |
---|---|
Construct Page | This value defaults from prior page as the Construct Page name. Display only |
Deployment* | Select from the list the Deployment associated with this template. (Required) |
Active | Toggle to make the Deployment Active/Inactive.
|
Estimate* | Enter the estimate count of records for this Deployment. (Works with Estimate Per Record to determine Metrics) |
Estimate Per Record(Minutes) | Enter the time in minutes that it should take the Employees assigned to the Deployment to complete a row of data for a Template Type = Construction only for metrics calculation. See NOTE below. |
Comment | Text field to provide additional details for this Deployment. |
Resource | User assigned as the resource responsible for this Deployment. |
Start Date | Select the date that the construction or enrichment starts. |
End Date | Select the date that the construction or enrichment ends. |
Audit fields | These are the system generated values for metrics reporting and auditing the work. |
Note
Construct Pages of Type = Enrichment do not require an estimate per record because existing records from the legacy system are being updated. The count of total records is defined by the list pulled in to update. However, Construct Pages of Type = Construction (where new records are created from scratch) have no total count as estimate to serve as the denominator for metrics. Therefore, the field Estimate Per Record(Minutes) attempts to provide timing to use for all construction type templates.
When finished with edits, click the Save icon to complete.
Assign the User to Deployments
Every table in Construct Pages is filtered by the Datasource and Deployments. The section for User Deployment within Administer > Security links the user to deployments, and is maintained by the Admin or Project Manager. Refer to section Administer > Security > User Deployment for details and setup.
Note
If the user is not assigned to any deployments for the template, the template is not be visible for them to select in the Excel spreadsheet.
Edit the Linked Deployment
The details of each linked deployment may be edited by selecting the row of data and click the Edit icon.
Click the Save icon to save the changes or back out of the page to leave the row unchanged.
Delete the Linked Deployment
Deployments may be removed from the Construct Page by clicking the Delete icon. Click the OK button to complete the action or click the Cancel button to leave the row unchanged.
