B
Bidirectional Assets
Assets that maintain a two-way relationship, serving as both the origin and destination in their connection.
C
Categories
Logical groupings that organize assets, helping to categorize data meaningfully. Categories make it easier to identify assets governed by specific policies, enhancing searchability and improving data organization.
Critical Limit
A threshold in data quality that defines unacceptable conditions, triggering immediate corrective actions to maintain acceptable standards.
Custom Relationships
User-defined relationship types between assets, tailored to meet specific business, industry, or geographic needs, allowing flexibility in how asset connections are represented.
D
Data Quality Parameters
Configurable attributes within the Quality module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform, used to:
Limit records downloaded to the data store
Restrict the number of records returned in a query
Manage data retention settings for historical data cleanup
Test parameters for data retention
Data Quality Threshold
A set limit providing a visual indicator of data quality health, displayed in charts and summary pages across various assets.
Data Store
A designated storage location where data generated in the Syniti Knowledge Platform can be saved, ensuring that you are always in control of your data.
Destination Assets
Assets designated as the endpoint in a relationship type, linking them to the current asset as the target in the relationship.
Dictionaries
Dictionaries translate technical columns in data quality reports into user-friendly business names in their desired language and use their own business terms for technical fields displayed.
E
Entries
Records within a dictionary that store translation information associated with specific terms.
I
Inverse Relationship Type
A relationship in which the destination asset is defined by the nature of its dependency within the relationship.
M
Match Remote Services
A Match service that allows an instance of Syniti Match Desktop that is installed on-site to connect to Syniti Match in the cloud. A remote service is a service (either Hub or Syniti Match Desktop) that is hosted at a location remote to Syniti.
Match Templates
Pre-configured templates sent from Syniti Match Desktop to Syniti Match, containing datasource connections, tasks, and settings required to execute a job.
Melissa Global Address Validation Services
A service to validate and cleanse address data records.
O
Orchestrate Parameters
Configurable attributes within the Orchestrate module used to set up services such as Melissa Global Address Validation.
Originating Assets
Assets designated as the starting point in a relationship type, allowing the relationship to link this asset to another specified asset.
R
Replication Hubs
A Replication hub allows an instance of Syniti Replicate that is installed on-site to connect to Syniti Replicate in the cloud, facilitating access to data replications viewable and manageable on the Syniti Replicate Monitor page.
S
Security Profiles
A profile that allow users to extend the global, role-based security settings on individual assets such as Catalog subject areas and rules, and Migrate datasets, releases, and datasources. This allows for very fine-grained security control for certain assets when needed
Sites
A connection between an instance of the Stewardship Tier and the Knowledge Platform.
SKP Connectors
An SKP connector is the Syniti component that allows the Syniti Knowledge Platform to communicate with systems in your landscape. One system can be related to multiple SKP connectors (e.g., two separate SKP connectors: one for executing Cloud DQ and one for executing Cloud DM)
Strategy
The Strategy component of the Knowledge Platform enables in-depth analysis of business strategy, encompassing the company's mission, vision, strategic goals, KPIs, policies, and business processes. Users can define one mission and one vision at both the company and program levels. Strategy is organized into two interconnected branches:
Company Level: Allows corporate leadership to outline strategic objectives centrally, ensuring all stakeholders can align decisions with company-wide goals.
Program Level: Enables data management program managers to define program-specific objectives and link them to broader company goals, fostering alignment with corporate strategy.
W
Warning Limit
A data quality threshold that signals issues within acceptable limits but highlights the need for attention to prevent future degradation.
