Once a dictionary is created, create entries by either uploading entries from a CSV file or manually creating entries.

Upload Entries from a CSV File

Upload dictionary entries in a CSV file with a maximum size of 6mb. The CSV file must have the following headers in this order:

  • PhraseIn—the technical name to be translated

  • PhraseOut—the user-friendly, translated name for PhraseIn

  • LanguageCode—the language in which the PhraseOut is translated. We support English, French and German. Enter the 2-character language code that is used: EN for English, FR for French and DE for German.

  • Active—turn on for the entry to be translated. Enter “true” or “false.”

Either ensure your CSV file has these columns or download the dictionary entries template during the upload process. This CSV template contains the required columns. Or, you may manually create a CSV file with the required columns. The initial upload for a dictionary adds the dictionary entries. Subsequent uploads add only the new records, so uploading a CSV file can also be used to append the entry list for a dictionary.

To upload dictionary entries:

  1. Verify you’re in the Admin module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.
    Or

  2. Select Admin from the Profile menu to navigate to the Admin module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.
