Overview
The Sources panel lists all the configured Source Datastores where you need to take a data snapshot or copy the data from a source and move it to a target datastore. Examples of Source Datastores include, but not limited to:
Legacy systems
Data from Syniti Construct
Data from working datastores
Snapshot tables of the target database for post-load reporting
Data from flat files
The Sources panel displays the following column:
Column Name | Description |
|---|---|
Datastore | Name of the source datastore. Select a datastore to quickly view its details page in the Catalog module. |
Replication Count | Total number of replications for this source datastore. |
Progress Status | Provides real-time status updates on the replications and the events that a replication job processes for all replications within a source datastore. Refer to the Replication Job Progress and Status section for more information. |
Last Refreshed | Timestamp of the last execution at the source datastore level. |
Duration | Time taken to complete the last execution. |
Priority | Denotes the order of the source datastores organized to execute within the target datastore. |
Type | Type of the source system. Currently, the following system types are supported:
|
Active | Turn on the toggle button to set a source datastore as Active for data replication. Turning off this toggle button disables all quick action buttons except Delete, and disables the Execute Replications button for all replications associated with the source datastore. |
Actions | Includes the quick action icons to execute all replications, schedule replication job, and modify source datastore details. Refer to the Quick Action Feature in the Sources Panel section for more information. |
The Sources panel also displays the number of source datastores for an associated target datastore available in the current workspace. If required, you can expand and collapse this panel when auditing or reviewing details in this panel.
Columns in grids throughout the Syniti Knowledge Platform (SKP) can be individually customized, sorted, and filtered. You can also search for names or values for in columns that have the Search feature enabled. The selected settings are remembered per user. Refer to SKP Grid Searching, Sorting, and Filtering for more information.
Quick Action Feature in the Sources Panel
You can perform the actions below using the quick action icons in the Actions column of the Sources panel. Currently, the following quick actions are supported in the Sources panel:
Note
To view more quick actions available in the Sources panel, click the More Actions button in the Actions column.
Execute Replications: The Execute Replications icon allows you to run a replication job at the source datastore level, executing all configured replications associated with the selected source datastores. Refer to Execute Replication Jobs for more information.
Schedule: The Schedule icon allows you to schedule the execution of replications with customizable recurrence options, offering flexibility in running replication jobs at regular intervals as required. Refer to Schedule Replication Jobs for more information.
Select Source Tables: Source table selection allows you to select the required tables from a source datastore for an associated target datastore in your data replication project. Refer to the Selecting Source Tables section for more information.
Edit: The Edit icon allows you to edit the Source Datastore configuration. For example, you can select a different source system’s connection or modify the priority of this source datastore.
Delete: The Delete icon allows you to remove a source datastore from your workspace for an associated target datastore.
Editing a Source Datastore
Note
While modifying a source datastore, you cannot select a different source datastore. However, you can delete the incorrect source datastore and re-create another one with correct source datastore details.
To edit a source datastore:
In the Sources panel, select the required source datastore associated with a target datastore.
In the Actions column, select More Actions > Edit for the selected source datastore. The Edit Source Datastore dialog box is displayed.
Modify the required fields that needs changes.
Click Save.
Deleting a Source Datastore
In the Sources panel, select the required source datastore.
In the Actions column, select More Actions > Delete for the selected source datastore. The Delete Source Datastore dialog box is displayed.
Click Confirm.
The selected source datastore and its associated workflows have been deleted successfully.
