Article Summary

Polices are a statement of a standard that guides business decisions. You can define the policy and provide the policy's purpose, or the business reason this policy has been implemented.

Policies can be enforced by rules, though this is not required.

When working with policies, you can define, collaborate on, and approve a set of policies, and create relationships among terms, rules and other assets.

Create a Policy

To create a policy:

  1. Verify you’re in the Catalog module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.

    Or

    Select Catalog from the Home menu to navigate to the Catalog module of the Syniti Knowledge Platform.

  2. Click the Create asset icon on the Site menu.

  3. Select Policy.

For details about a specific field, hover over the Help icon.

For more information about policies, click the Page help icon on the Site menu.

The policy is a draft version in Unpublished status after it has been saved. It must be sent for review before it can be published. Refer to Work with Asset Versions and Publishing for more information.

After the policy has been created, on the Policy detail page, you can:

Edit a Policy

To edit a policy:

  1. Search for the policy.

  2. Open the Policy detail page.

  3. Click the More actions icon in the upper right.

  4. Select Edit.

For details about a specific field, hover over the Help icon.

For more information about policies, click the Page help icon on the Site menu.

Delete a Policy

Note

If you have permission to edit the asset, you can delete it, whether it has been published, is in review status, or is in unpublished status. All published versions and the unpublished version of the asset are deleted, and this action cannot be undone.

To delete a policy:

  1. Search for the policy.

  2. Open the Policy detail page.

  3. Click the More actions icon in the upper right.

  4. Select Delete.

Use Bulk Edit to Apply Edits to Multiple Assets

With Bulk Edit, you can filter a list of assets on the Search Results page to be updated with values that you select including:

  • Owner

  • SMEs/Stakeholders

  • Categories and values
